It’s finally Spring in New York City! The season when everything comes to life after a cold winter. The city’s food scene is celebrated all year round but Spring and Summer make it possible for foodies to enjoy food outdoors, whether it’s on the curbside or at the park. The park is definitely the perfect spot especially when you just want to be one with nature while enjoying the company of your loved ones. In Smorgasburg – Williamsburg, not only do you get to unwind at the park but you also get to revel in its amazing food lineup.
Smorgasburg is the seasonal food market that people always look forward to simply because it gathers amazing food establishments found in the 5 boroughs and even beyond. Some exclusively sell in Smorgasburg. Although the lineup changes every year, there are a few stalls that have become staples to the experience, one of which is Carnal.
Carnal specializes in slow-cooked and smoked meats, particularly Beef Short Rib and Pork Jowl. The star in Smorgasburg is the Beef Short Rib. Smothered in bone marrow and topped with spring onion salsa and black pepper, the short rib is easily a fatty and juicy hit for carnivores like me. The beef was so flavorful and tender that I had to reflect on its goodness after each bite. It’s gluten-free and only costs $17 for a pound, making it perfect to share especially if you want to have room for dessert and other food in the market.
If you’re planning a trip to Smorgasburg soon, Carnal is a must! Your tastebuds will thank you later.
