Hey there!
I’m Diane Lee

I am an NYC based content creator, filmmaker, gluten-free foodie, and mental health advocate

I’ve always known the importance of wellness because I grew up with a sickly mother. But I never thought that I’d discover a love for it until I faced my celiac diagnosis and took major steps in emotional and mental healing in 2019. In 2015, I began to experience occasional eczema flare-ups, alongside clinical depression, thinking that they were just skin rashes that might’ve been caused by the humid heat in Manila. Fast forward to Fall 2017–the beginning of my life in NYC–the itchy, scaly patches appeared more frequently and started to take over my life. Topical creams and weekly acupuncture and cryotherapy sessions served as band-aid solutions, then brain fog, joint numbness and pain, and chronic fatigue ensued. Once I hit rock bottom, I began adopting a gluten-free diet.

It is an arduous journey, given that I grew up with no dietary restrictions. Nevertheless, I am grateful that this journey has propelled me to heal not only physically but also mentally and emotionally. It has given me new perspectives and an immense amount of growth. I was able to acknowledge, process, and shed some parts of myself to make space for the ones who invite more self-love and self-compassion, allowing me to sincerely care for and love others. As I continue to navigate this healing journey that is never linear yet always filled with wonderful surprises, I only hope to spread love and light.

My Story

Love,
Diane

let's start at the beginning...

I only started eating fruits and vegetables in my junior year in high school. I was a picky eater! And it took a horrible food poisoning incident for me to give these nutritious–and essential!–foods another shot. I never thought that I’d eventually eat fruits and vegetables, other than bananas and kang kong (water spinach). I now love berries, avocados, cauliflower, spinach, kale, arugula, and mushrooms. I love a good bowl of salad too!

I’m a dancer! I started seriously training for ballet when I was in 4th grade, then I started branching out to different styles such as contemporary, lyrical, jazz, and street, to name a few. I even thought of dancing professionally. I represented the Philippines with the Company of Ateneo Dancers in the World of Dance Championships 2017.

I have a huge sweet tooth! I don’t think I can ever live without chocolate. So, expect to see lots of sweet recipes!

I usually plan around the food spots I wanna go to for my travels! I believe that the best way to immerse myself in different cultures is through food. Food does so much more than nourish our bodies–it is a powerful force that brings people together, and it is a vessel that holds the stories of cities and their people.I have a huge sweet tooth! I don’t think I can ever live without chocolate. So, expect to see lots of sweet recipes!

I’m a corgi whore! A person with an extreme obsession with corgis, that is. I have one of my own and her name’s Pebbles. She does have a cute butt!!!I have a huge sweet tooth! I don’t think I can ever live without chocolate. So, expect to see lots of sweet recipes!
